This lecture will delve into the characteristics of 3D printing and electrospinning methods as applied in medicine. It will explore advanced tissue engineering techniques and three-dimensional cell substrates used for regenerating nervous tissue, ligaments, bones, and cartilage. Participants will witness demonstrations of creating three-dimensional polymer structures through versatile production methods like electrospinning and 3D printing. The session will also highlight recent advancements in printing organs, bones, and prostheses.
The presentation will feature material tests conducted in the laboratory to characterise implanted materials. Moreover, insights into preclinical research from the BIOLIGAMED NCBiR project, including grafts for reconstructing the cruciate ligament with a bone regeneration substitute, will be shared. Lastly, commercially available cell substrates for tissue regeneration will be showcased.
